a group of co workers having an end of week drink outside the GS (basically like a 7-11, but not, because we have 7-11's). here in ansan, practically anywhere you can buy alcohol, there is a set of picnic tables outside to sit at and enjoy aforementioned drinks.

june's field trip was to suwon's folk village. i hope to go again, without a bunch of students to watch over. there seemed to be some great artifacts and things to check out. . . aside from it being real pretty.

these are sort of akin to totem poles. the marked the entrance of towns and hopefully warded away anything dangerous.

the last performance we saw was a tightrope walker. . . the students were more fascinated with the bug crawling near where we were seated.

swon and i jaunted over to this park/ island on sunday. it's located in the han river. about a decade ago it was the water supply and purification site for seoul. after it was no longer used they turned it into a park but kept a lot of the industrial pieces and built around and inside them. it makes for a really interesting combination of elements.

no food, rollerblades or bikes allowed. . . and i guess people walk around barefoot on some of the paths. it's definitely quiet and chill.

trying to get out of the hot sun and into the car, we saw this. . . water fountain?/ geyser?. . . man, it's spitting it up there, whatever it is.
